Desk research, and we say so

Most pieces here are desk work: we read composition labels, return policies, published price data, and brand pages, then lay them next to each other. When we have not worn or handled a garment, the article says so rather than borrowing the voice of a review. Nothing here invents a test that did not happen.

Prices and dates

Prices, fiber percentages, and policy terms are recorded on the day we check them, and the article names that day. Retailers change all of it without notice, so an old number is a snapshot, not a promise. Pieces that go stale on a schedule, sale calendars especially, get revisited and carry an updated date at the top.

Sources

We link the primary document when one exists: the labeling statute, the filing, the brand's own product page, the government price series. Where a claim comes from a company that profits from it, we say whose claim it is instead of passing it along as a finding.

Money

ThreadGloss currently earns nothing. No brand has paid for coverage, supplied product, or seen a piece before it published. If advertising or affiliate links are added later, this page will name them, and any article carrying one will disclose it in the article itself.

Health and safety claims

We do not make medical, dermatological, or safety claims about products. Where a beauty topic touches on skin health, we describe what a formula is and what a manufacturer claims, and we point you to a clinician instead of standing in for one.

Corrections

Errors get fixed in place, and the correction is noted on the piece with the date. Write to [email protected] if something here is wrong, and include the link.
