When Do Abercrombie Jeans Go on Sale? 80 Saturdays of Homepage Banners, Three of Them About Jeans

One ledger: the top banner of Abercrombie's US homepage, archived every Saturday from January 2025 through this August, 84 snapshots, 80 usable. It counts the denim events, the storewide codes, and the number of weeks a $90 pair actually costs $90. Then the CFO's line about 'protecting' the price gets a second reading.

Eighty usable Saturdays. That’s the dataset under this piece, and it has a name: the Saturday Banner Ledger, the top banner of Abercrombie’s US homepage as the Internet Archive caught it once a week, every Saturday from January 4, 2025 to August 15, 2026. Eighty-four snapshots went in, one came back an error and three as blocked pages, so every count below is out of 80. I haven’t bought the jeans, and for once that costs the piece nothing, because none of what follows rests on how denim feels. All of it rests on what the page said.

Here’s the ledger’s verdict, receipts to follow. A jeans-only sale exists, it runs twice a year, and missing it matters less than the sale’s own marketing suggests, because 50 of the 80 Saturdays carried a storewide 20 or 25 percent code that covered jeans anyway.

The expensive move isn’t skipping the Denim Event. The expensive move is paying the $90 list price on one of the quiet weeks, and the quiet weeks are the minority.

When do Abercrombie jeans go on sale?

Abercrombie runs a jeans-only sale twice a year, in early August and at the turn of February, each about a week long, and only three of the 80 archived Saturdays landed inside one. The ledger has all three by name. August 9, 2025: “The Viral Denim Sale: 30-50% Off All Jeans.” February 1, 2026: “Our Viral Denim Sale: 25-40% Off All Jeans.” August 8, 2026: the Denim Event, 25 to 50 off, free shipping with a pair. This year’s window closed fast: by Saturday the 15th the banner had moved on to a members-only offer of $50 off a future purchase, which is the kind of sentence you read twice.

The other 77 Saturdays are where the ledger earns its keep. Fifty of them, roughly two in three, carried a discount that wasn’t about jeans and covered them anyway: “25% Off Everything,” “20% Off Almost Everything,” “20-40% Off Almost Everything,” “$50 Off $150+,” “Buy One, Get One 50% Off Everything,” and the app-only version of each. Fifteen were category-only promos (dresses, shorts and swim, NFL, sweatshirts, “select styles”), and about a dozen were clearance-only or bare. A year of it, in the site’s own words:

How often does the $90 pair actually cost $90?

The $90 list price on the Curve Love High Rise 90s Straight held untouched on roughly 27 of the 80 archived Saturdays, about one week in three, and every other week some banner was sitting on top of it. The $90 comes from the product page as the archive caught it in February, and NBC Select quoted the same $90 on the 90s Relaxed during last August’s event, down to $63.

Twenty months of snapshots. Nobody moved the sticker once.

The company will tell you that’s deliberate. On the May 27 earnings call, Suraj Malhotra of Raymond James asked straight out whether denim demand was “holding up at full price” or whether customers were “being drawn to promotions there.” CEO Fran Horowitz-Bonadies said demand hadn’t changed, and CFO Robert Ball took the pricing half: “When we look at pricing, this is one of those categories that we’re protecting from a price point standpoint,” per the Insider Monkey transcript. The Saturday before the call, the ledger has the homepage at “Step Into Summer: 20-40% Off Almost Everything.” The Saturday before that, “$50 Off $150+.” Both are true at once, as far as I can tell.

Is it worth waiting for the next Abercrombie Denim Event?

Waiting for the next denim event buys a September shopper almost nothing, because 50 of the 80 archived Saturdays already carried a 20 or 25 percent code that covered jeans, and another one tends to turn up within a couple of weekends. The floors, if you can wait for them, are the denim events in early August and at the turn of February, plus the last weekend of November, when the 2025 banner read “25-50% OFF Everything” and the rest of the denim year bottoms out with it. The nearest test of the two-in-three rule is the Labor Day weekend ahead, and the ledger says the odds are decent. What it won’t defend is paying $90 this week because the last event closed, and February, the next named window, is five months out, which is a long wait for a pair of pants. And if the pair is a new fall silhouette you’ve never tried, a 25 percent code on a shape you return is a $67.50 lesson. Try the fit in a store first, then buy on a Saturday the banner is pointed at you.

What the ledger can’t see, it can’t count. The archive caught the page once a week, this is a chain that changes banners midweek and runs app-only offers that don’t always reach the homepage, so the real number of discount days is higher than mine, not lower.

The exclusions list behind “almost everything” isn’t archived either, so read the fine print on the day you buy. The only jeans exclusion that surfaced in 84 tries was a free-shipping offer that left out clearance jeans.

Which leaves the protected price. For twenty months I’d read that unmoving $90 as the thing the CFO said it was, a price point being defended. Read the ledger end to end and the same number does a different job: a sticker that never moves while a 20-something percent banner rotates above it isn’t being protected from the discounting. The sticker is what the discounting stands on. Most Saturdays of the year, the working price of the pair is $67.50, and the $90 is there so that number has something to be down from.
